How to start a project

Service projects are registered and processed in iLab, an online project managing software for core facilities. It provides transparency of projects and quotes. It also includes a booking schedule for some equipment.

What is iLab?
iLab is our core facility's online platform for managing sequencing service orders. Through iLab, you can:

  • Request project consultations
  • Get price quotes
  • Initiate library preparation and sequencing projects

Each research group is organized into a "Lab," led by a Principal Investigator (PI). Your lab will be named "[PI Name] (LU) Lab.

Important Notes

  • Only the PI and the initial requester can see project details by default, which can create communication challenges for collaborators like bioinformaticians.
  • Consider designating a lab manager for broader project access.
  • Regularly update your team on project status through meetings or shared documents.
